This font is seriously hard to read.
Thanks for the hatelove! I knew it wouldn't last. Someone said a day, my 40 minute estimate was more on the money.
Windows doesn't have font antialiasing/smoothing and requires windows-optimized fonts, this one from google.com/webfonts obviously isn't. That is except for Internet Explorer because everyone knows font rendering should be done by the browser and not the OS.
Thanks Windows! One can never have enough Arial!

I'm running Winders© 7 and I think it looks pretty awesome. Win7 has font smoothing (ClearType) and you can even fine tune it by running 'cttune' at a command prompt. It looks about the same on the MBP.
The current style looks terrific too, way less "designed". The beige and blue(s) are a nice, unobtrusive palette.

a Mac user with bad eyesight. The font is 13px big and is the same size or larger than it has ever been. What these guys are talking about is this:

Hint: The blotchy looking one is Chrome+Windows the nice looking one is Chrome+Mac

Thanks for the comments. It's the same palette we've generally used since the beginning. I used the waybackmachine to pickup elements from the past and well as adding some new ideas.
The big ugly (see above) appears to be with the bold font-variant. I make try to remove it and see if bold text renders nicer on Windoze.
I know what you are using; if it wasn't an antique you wouldn't be complaining

I see no reason to squint to read when i can make it all bigger
