You can't hotlink to them on another forum without Gold Membership.
It is the other forum saying they are dynamic then - that is because they are stored somehow in the database and do not have a .jpg or .gif ending some forum software doesnt like that (phpbb IIRC)

I tried using a different format url like so:
Code:
Is there any way to link to the full res version of the image? I thought 1024x768 was a reasonable compromise in size, but if that's still to big for your server to handle, please let me know.
There is, you need to get to the image itself, rather than the page the image is on, keep clicking on the image (twice i think) until you see JUST the image, and no web page around it. Use that URL, the format should be like this:
Most forums will be ok with it, but i think phpBB (which is shite anyway) sometimes pewks at it.

Is there another way of doing this?

Not that I know of. cthree did once mention he might make them regular extensions in the next Gallery upgrade, but I have no idea when that might be.

I've just done this on a Vbb 3.5.4 board here:

So it must be in the particular board you are posting on. There is an option to disallow dynamic urls for images. I guess they have it switched on.

Thanks AquilaEagle, that helps narrow down the problem.
I'm working on this with the admin at the other forum, but he is very annoying. This has been bugging me for years.
Maybe they'll fix it this time.
