You can't hotlink to them on another forum without Gold Membership.

It is the other forum saying they are dynamic then - that is because they are stored somehow in the database and do not have a .jpg or .gif ending some forum software doesnt like that (phpbb IIRC)
I have a gold membership, and I still can't quite figure out how to post links in another forum to my images stored here in my album on s2ki. Using the dynamic URL doesn't work of course.

I tried using a different format url like so:

Code:
... But the resulting image is scaled down to about 530x400 when it appears in the other forum. It is posted in the album at 1024x768, which was already reduced in size from the source image.

Is there any way to link to the full res version of the image? I thought 1024x768 was a reasonable compromise in size, but if that's still to big for your server to handle, please let me know.

There is, you need to get to the image itself, rather than the page the image is on, keep clicking on the image (twice i think) until you see JUST the image, and no web page around it. Use that URL, the format should be like this:

Most forums will be ok with it, but i think phpBB (which is shite anyway) sometimes pewks at it.

The forum where I tried to link these images is running vBulletin 3.5.4 and it could not understand the dynamic URL. In spite of the IMG tags, it turned the URL into a link instead of an image.

Is there another way of doing this?

I've just done this on a Vbb 3.5.4 board here:

http://www.th0ng.org/forums/showthre...=1038#post1038

So it must be in the particular board you are posting on. There is an option to disallow dynamic urls for images. I guess they have it switched on.

Thanks AquilaEagle, that helps narrow down the problem.

I'm working on this with the admin at the other forum, but he is very annoying. This has been bugging me for years.

Maybe they'll fix it this time.

If you want to know where the setting is in the vbb 3.5.4 admin cp then I can tell you, then you can pass on the info to him?

If you could give me the instructions for the admin cp, I think that might be helpful. This guy seems to be ignoring me. Maybe I can make it easier for him?

OK this simple:

vBulletin Options --> Message Posting and Editing Options.

Down the list there is "Allow Dynamic URL for [IMG] Tags"

Have that set to Yes.
