Gallery Borked - Working on a fix
I'm betting the image is too big. The error messages have very little to do with the actual errors. The incorrect type message seems to be used generically throughout the software. What the software does is something like this:
if( toowide OR tootall OR notanimage OR toolarge) then say "Invalid type"
if( toowide OR tootall OR notanimage OR toolarge) then say "Invalid type"
I could look it up, I not sure what the limits are top of my head but you (we) might be better served if you could scale it down
It's impossible to view such a large image online and unless you're looking to distribute digital negatives for all to see and use freely it makes more sense to scale it to a more manageable size. It's a lot of storage space to use for something that nobody will ever find value in. 1600x1200 or 1280x1024 or even 1024x768 sized copies of 8MP digital photos are usually only 200-500KB. They upload quicker, can actually be viewed in full size and take up less room on the server. It also keep you in control of the original.
Remember, your gallery space should only be thought of as a place to share your photos, not archive them. If there is ever an issue and we lose the file (typos while entering commands have been known to happen) it's gone forever. You need to retain the originals. Buy a 250GB USB external hard drive and store your photos, videos and MP3s on it. That's what I do and they can be moved around easily.
