Gallery issues?
Erik,
Anything going on with the gallery? I did 2 bulk uploads, each with 3 pics. The first was fine, but the second only 1 pic of the 3 came through. When I use the tool to upload one at a time, it doesn't show up, and when I use the new pic button to upload one at a time I get the same failed results. (Although there it says file size (the file is 4.3 MB BTW.)
Just curious - thanks.

Ok - I tried some things and got some more information...
I went in and deleted about 12 old pictures. Then I tried to upload one pic and it worked. Then another, then 2 more. On the bulk upload the first was successful, the second failed.
So I'm thinking there is a limit to the amount of space allocated for a member for file storage. If so, then I'll ask the following series of questions:
1) Where do I see how much of my allocation I am using? (In the PM area, it tells me how much I'm using there, but nowhere I can find in the gallery.)
2) Is there a way to delete an entire album at one time?
3) In lieu of that, is there a way to delete more than one pic at a time, or do I need to individually click each picture and hit the delete button?
4) Any chance of making the popup for the bulk tool about a 1/2 inch wider and taller so the data inside the window is actually visible without having to scroll to the right just so you can see the scroll bar that allows you to see the status of the uploads.

The gallery is part of a comprehensive site software rewrite I'm working on. Many of the issues you describe will be resolved as part of that rewrite.
There are limits to the size of your albums however I'm not sure how well enforced they are (I haven't looked at that code in quite some time). I believe gallery limits are not being enforced at this time.
2) No
3) No, yes
4) I'll see what I can do. It shouldn't be a complicated change and I might be able to slip it in.

Erik,
Thanks - if limitations aren't enforced I have a different problem as nothing I upload works. If you could check it would be helpful. It seemed real clear that as I removed some files, I was able to upload a few more so I'd speculate they are on.

This may be part of the rewrite you are doing, but I'm getting intermittent failure to upload pics. Seems random to me. Here's the message:
"This program cannot display the webpage"
I'm uploading single images, not bulk. A couple uploaded correctly a few minutes ago, then one didn't, then a couple of minutes later it did.

You never really responded as to whether the restrictions are in place. It's been two months, and I just returned from a trip and wanted to share some photos.
I uploaded about 5 MB fine, then started to get failures. As I deleted older photos, I was able to upload more until all 10 MB or so was completed.
I think its clear there is something limiting the amount of space I can have stored at any time. Can you please look into it.
I looked again and can only say it's hard to tell precisely without going through the code . The gallery we run is heavily modified from what we started with by a number of different hands. The administrative interface shows an upload limit of 8192K (8MB) for members and a total size limit of 1G. What I don't know is if the actual code honors those limits or not.
However, in case the limits are honored, if even not everywhere, I upped the setting for upload size to 56MB and removed the total limit completely. Let me know if that makes any difference for you.
