How thick am I?

I just can't work out how the gear and star rating next to your forum name works. Please put me out of my misery!

 

it works according to how many posts you have on the forum...not sure of the exact numbers

 

That's what I thought initially but I have seen people with 3*'s who have less postings than some with 2*'s

 

moderators have 2 blinking stars.

if the stars are blinking it is different levels of moderator to admin.

solid stars = the gear you are in. They go up with posts.

 

Solid stars are for regular members. They go from Neutral (no stars and no posts) to 6th Gear (6 stars and 17 million billion posts)

Moderators and admins get blinky stars, 2 for a moderator, 3 for a super mod (moderator at large) and 4 for an admin. Since the stars blink 7 times, that's like 7xstars. So moderators actually have 14 and so on.

I have to say this so the moderators don't flip out with star envy
