Default Holiday "Gifting"

I know it would take some doing but what if you could "gift" Member status to a Guest? Anonymously or not.

Again, just a random thought.

For those on Reddit, you understand the gift of Gold.

It's been done before (a wife gifted a membership to her husband for their wedding anniversary). I think it would have to be arranged with an admin.

Actually we wouldn't handle that either. IB would handle that. If you are interested in that option, please email support@s2ki.com and we can get that information forwarded to the appropriate party.

I know it can be done (or at least it used to be able to be done a year ago) because my membership was in fact gifted to me. And I thank PicturePro for that gift. I was a guest for quite some time until Bill decided to change that for me. Very unexpected and I really thought it was a very nice gesture. Random act of kindness.

Maybe ask him who he got in touch with and how he did it.

I'm not gonna "do" anything. It sounded to me like IB was looking to raise some $$ via memberships. If IB made it REAL easy to "gift" memberships .... well, maybe people would.

We can drop the subject.

So sorry. I thought you were asking about it because you wanted to do something nice for someone. I apparently misunderstood.

I did want to. Why couldn't it be easier and available all the time kinda like my own membership?

I know, it's not like it used to be here at S2KI. Now it's owned by a corporation and all the red tape that comes with that.

I don't know the exact date of when IB purchased S2ki, but I do know it was well before I was gifted my membership by PicturePro. I will ask him if he doesn't mind sharing that info (how he went about doing the gifting) and perhaps it will help in finding a way to make it possible for the process to be readily available to people. I don't know that it isn't already (haven't tried), but I presume that if it were, you wouldn't be posting and asking this question.

This is an excellent time of year for this sort of topic so I, for one, thank you for bringing it up.

I think it's a great suggestion and one that I've asked if we can have added to the dropdown as an option. They have opened a ticket to add this as an enhancement so hopefully we can get.

In the meantime, if you do want to gift a membership, here are the steps:

A member would have to send the payment via Paypal to billing.s2ki@internetbrands.com then contact Paige with the Paypal receipt with the username of the person they would like to gift it to. We most likely could send them a PM and let them know they got a gift membership after that.

I think suggestions like these are always good and it never hurts to ask.

Thanks
