Default Is It just Me Or Does The Search Function SucK

I've been a member of this site for a very long time now...I no longer own a S2000 but I still come to this site...I have a lot of friends who own S2000s and I help them find information...I am also looking into buying an AP2 at the moment...

I see countless posts dating back to 2002 that are completely useless...And they are the first ones that pop up when you search...For instance a friend of mine is looking to Turbocharge his car...I told him there was no need for a motor build the stock motor would hold up fine for his 350RWHP goal...When I searched to prove it to him...I see people saying buy a different car this car will never make that kind of power without a full motor build..Since then we've seen 4-500RWHP S2Ks on the stock block...Sorry for the Rant but it's annoying and it miss informs people...I hope there is a way to bring the most recent posts to the top of the search list...

Honestly, I DO understand the problem but the solution is not simple and to anyone who says that XYZ forum has better search I say I've seen the code they use, I have it here. It's either the same as we use or inferior.

We do a simple keyword matching search of all posts and so do all the other forums. We don't analyse the post content, rank it or try to be smart about the content it finds. If the keywords match it's a hit, period.

If you want Google-like search capability then your only option is to use Google to search the site. Put 'site:s2ki.com' at the start of your Google keywords when searching with Google.

I know what the OP is talking about and its solved when you search by date....however unless not doing so returns more relavant results (which from what you just said cthree, it doesnt seem to), then I think it would be nice to have it automatically search by most recent date.

There is an option for sorting by date now, it's just not the default. The default is by keyword relevance.
