Default Log on problems

Forgive me if this is a duplicate thread, but in browsing I didn't see this problem listed: When I try to log on from my AOL browser, I get a "server too busy" error message and I cannot log on. To get logged in, I have to use another computer that has a firefox browser. Is this a site problem or a problem with aol's browser? Thanks.

I've been getting "server too busy" fairly often when I try to perform any function that requires database read/update. No problems actually getting in (also from AOL).

Tried again twice this morning, same message. The only browser that gets me in is firefox. This is okay, but I'd like to log in on the desktop (aol) at times.

I've never had any probs with it before and I've used AOL on the desktop for several years. The site opens, it just refuses to let me log in.

The AOL Proxy IP is probably banned.

^ Not sure what that means...English translation?? I'm not getting it consistently. Sometimes, like now, it's working fine. Other times not. I've been on AOL for the whole time I've been on this site, so something must be different.

The AOL browser doesn't access the Internet directly. It goes through a proxy. One of the proxies may be been IP banned. When you use Firefox it goes direct and that's why it works. There are more than one proxy servers so it might work sometimes and not others depending on which proxy you happen to be using. I can't say for sure, it's just a guess.

Concurrently with my inability to log in using the aol browser, I've also noticed oddities logging in on firefox -- ie, when I try to go to the first unread post, it persistently takes me to an error screen: server too busy, etc. or it takes me to posts that I read days ago. I figured all this would be resolved whenever the new software changes take place, so hadn't mentioned it before.
