im pretty new here, but been on other forums for years. was wondering if in the marketplace we can have different sections like audio, wheels, interior parts, exterior parts etc. i think it would make it a lot easier to find a certain part instead of looking through all the posts. if im wrong, or if this already exists, please let me know. i tried looking before posting this

 

Buyers like to have what they want neatly organized while sellers want the most people possible to see it so they dump everything into the forum which gets the most traffic. We are limited by the current forum structure for classified ads.

 

ahh i hear ya. and chance of upgrading, or getting a newer version? im sure they like to have the most views possible, but even in a certain section they'll have more opportunity selling it than possibly getting overlooked in a sea of 'for sale' items.

 

it's on the active pile, something I'm planning to address more fully this fall.

 

I know this is being discussed currently out on the status board.


Why not vote on forgoing the "computer gear for sale" and replace it with a wheels and tire section , It would certainly get more attention, and I feel that wheel sales clog up the for sale more than anything Having a nice sub forum for wheels only would be a great place to shop as there are TONS of nice wheels kicking around this site.

 

This may have already crossed your mind, but another option would be to use the new Topic Prefixes feature kinda like NSX Prime's Parts for Sale section.

 

The topic prefix thing is an interesting proof of concept but wouldn't work in practice as it is. Besides, we need more than just flags, tags or markers. Sorting ads into searchable groups/categories is a central part of the concept.
