Emails that are being sent to you are being queued at the source (sender). They will sit there for up to 4 days so they aren't going to bounce.
The mail server has been running for 5 years or so with little change. Obviously I've forgotten how it's put together but it's fairly complicated with lots of different software components. Your email that is saved on the server (webmail, IMAP) is being copied now from the old disk image to the new machine but there are a bazillion little files and they take a long time to copy. I only have 5 new emails. But I guess it may take time to process the queueing that you spoke of, and then it would come in a huge wave?

Things should be back online again now. I think there is still an issue with notification messages being sent out but member mail *should* work. Tell me if I'm wrong. It may take 24 hours to catch up so if you haven't received something you were expecting please allow more time to clear the backlog.
