Member Email Update
We have been working very hard to get Member Email back on track. Those who used the system that came into life with s2ki.com v4 had major issues which I couldn't get any support for from the company that produces the software. As a result we have been forced to seek alternatives.
There is no direct, drop-in replacement for the email system we were using. Therefore the new email system we are putting the finishing touches on is dramatically different than what has gone before and requires some explaination before people will be able to use it effectively.
First of all, all of the email account passwords need to be reset. I will be sending out a PM to all email account holders containing your new email password which we have assigned to each account. This should happen tomorrow as I need the rest of the day to resolve some nagging login issues and generate the new passwords.
Second, the new system is a lot more powerful than it was before but that power also leads to some complexity. There is a WebMail interface for sending and receiving email and until I'm able to complete a full user guide for all of the new functionality it will be the primary means of access to the member email system.
Third, the new system has a separate login from the forums. This is for a couple of reasons:
1. unifying the two logins would be complicated and time consuming. Getting this system up and running ASAP has been our primary concern.
2. having a separate email password offers better security of your email because it means that people accessing your PC with the saved forums login will not be able to access your email.
In the mean time your s2ki email is being received and stored in your mailbox so no email is being lost. Once I've sent out the PM with your new email password you will be able to collect and read this mail.
For those who are email savvy I'll say that once you receive your new password information you will be able to collect your email with POP and IMAP. If you know what this is and understand what that means then you should be able to configure your email client to access your email this way once you get your new password. If you don't that's OK, the user's guide will explain this. The WebMail system will be the primary and only officially supported means of collecting your member email until such taim as I can complete the full user's guide explaining how to use the addition functions.
Post any questions you have here.

Update: We think we solved the disconnection problem we were having my hacking the C code of the mail server. Tests so far show it working nicely now without losing connection and logging people out. This was the last known hurdle before turning on the WebMail. I'll be sending out PMs shortly with info and directions.
On another email note I got the support email system put back together. We moved it to a new server and upgraded it. We were having issues with it meshing with the new mail server but have those ironed out. Email to support@s2ki.com, info@s2ki.com, help@s2ki.com and sales@s2ki.com should be a-ok as we speak. Sorry for the inconvenience to anyone waiting on a response from us to an email to one of those addresses. With the mail server in complete chaos we were unable to make that system work until now.

Update:
I have sent out the PM messages to all email account holders with the information you'll need to access the new member email system. Ignore any options in MyS2K about member email and use the directions I sent in that PM.
The MyS2K integration of the new email system is the next thing in the works including the ability for those who don't have member email accounts presently to create them. Give us a couple more days to get that up to date.
Good luck!

Got my PM today along with the new password to access my email. How do I change my password to something that I can actually remember?
