Mobile S2ki?
The entire s2ki.com site will be getting a major update sometime in the next few weeks. That upgrade includes major updates to member photo galleries too numerous to list. It also includes a web-based 'mobile' version laid out for the smaller display and lower bandwidth consumption (smaller pages that load much faster) for ALL(*) mobile browsers.
* All worth mentioning, not all that exist. If you have an odd phone browser on an old motorola brick wired to a car battery you are probably SOL.
Mobile photo uploads are probably going to be done via email. We don't have the horsepower in-house to write custom iPhone/Android/wm7 apps for s2ki.
Contrary to what I've said before, Tapatalk will be supported if you happen to use that app platform for other forums. I'm still not a huge fan but it comes in the box so why not...
The plan is to have the site fully upgraded before Christmas.

Sweet! I'm also on nasioc and they have an app that's pretty efficient. I was hoping for something similar for us so I did a search and found this thread. Between the regular Internet sites, ours beats Nasioc in every facet but cuz Im on my iPad 24/7, an app for S2Ki would be a dream come true. Either way, keep up the good work.
bump.
We had the same issue on another forum I frequent.
The IPB was too highly customised to use tapatalk. I know Invision has their own app in (Invision 3.x), and I know VBulletin is tapatalk compatible as I frequent VB forums with tapatalk on a regular basis.
In the end the owner came up with this solution instead. We still have the option to view full screen mode and zoom on the iphone screen, or we can use this software. Its supported by Android and all the regular "smart phones" on the market. This is how it looks using the software.

You'll see in the mobile compatible link the software has been quickly customised to enable us to still view full screen mode on mobile, as well as having the option to go from full screen to software compatible. When the software was launched, we had a discussion thread. If you want to spend 10 minutes having a browse over what was said, here is the link (its an open forum):

I'm the guy named S2krazie on that forum doing the thread testing and adding more than my 2c and thoughts. "McLeod" is the site admin, and consequently the server provider I used to host my old website on (I used to run one of the worlds largest online automotive news / gallery / wallpaper sites (even bigger than S2Ki) until I lost interest a few years ago & sold it to some douchebag in Colorado who has ruined it with excessive ads and lack of content).
ANyway, hope this helps with the upgrade, as I often browse S2kI on my iPhone, but I never post because its too much of an inconvenience to use. If we had an app or some forum software (like above) that would be fantastic!

What's the plan now?

Yes, I'm way over due, getting this done right and quickly is a major challenge. It's taking longer than I'd like.
So far I've got all the member accounts, profiles, signatures, avatars and the like and the forum topics and posts all converted over without major problems.
Left to do are PMs, MyS2K, photo galleries/albums and whatever else is left. I still need to get the moderators and CO's trained up which is going to start at the end of next week.
The plan now is (mid)February(ish) with a tailwind and good luck.
The most important things to me is that there be no regression, no information loss and that the site be down for no more than 48 hours in total.
I'm not there yet and I'll slip the date as much as necessary until we've got those 3 key requirements.
