Point taken regarding the room location. However, you're still begging the question. My point is that matters such as this should be discussed in the main forum where they will most likely be seen and spoken to by our members. A response of "you're in the wrong room for discussing the issue of whether this is the appropriate room for discussion" is circular and begs the question.

I have no doubt that the moderators will jump at the chance to reroute this thread to the appropriate place.

Will someone please explain the criteria for a post to be in "Car Talk"?

I moved this one over to the Site Info place...just to let you people know, I am not the one behind all the topic moving, and I will not reveal who is.

The topic I did move was the one that wirejock posted about polishing his Mingster dead pedal...no offense intended, but I don't think many people care too much, and it also doesn't have very much to do with the S2000 itself.

Will someone please explain why the following post entitled "The Intangibles" was moved to "Off Topic" with such posts as "I don't understand lawnmower racing" and "Digital cameras" ?

[QUOTE]The things that make it special that don't show up in any tech sheet or head to head comparison.

Have you recovered yet?

In all seriousness why not split up Car Talk into segments such as;

Performance Modifications & Reviews

Service Problems & Solutions

General Discussion

Catagories similar to these would cut the load into more evenly distributed sections.

Just a suggestion.

No, cthree, I don't think you are insane ... well maybe just a little for putting up with all of us

Here's a copy of my post in the related thread Is it time to split the Car Talk forum

The challenge is to maintain a sense of community within an organized framework. Having one forum to deal with all topics related to the S2K makes it easy for people to see many different threads, but with the consequence of quickly moving topics off the bottom of the screen. As mentioned, fragmenting the board too much will reduce the sense of community. I like the way we have different forums and think some of the recent confusion is that redirection has been inconsistently applied. That said, it is the unpaid efforts of a few of us that allow us to have this excellent board. I doubt that there is any malicious intent with moving posts, just people trying to make a good thing better. Thanks to all of you!

I suggest that before any future "crackdowns" the guidelines for posting to different forums be reviewed. It is through advanced warning and discussion that feelings of disenfranchisement may be averted.

What I think is sad is that this thread is something like 20 posts long now and the only explanation Dliodoir has been given as to why posts that were obviously appropriate for the car talk forum were moved is "I moved them in a bried flash of insanity". That's IT?!?! Then MOVE THEM BACK. Seriously, this issue of moving posts using random criteria has been getting worse and worse. One moderator moved the post about polishing Mingster's Dead Pedal because he didn't think many people would be interested. Gee, thanks for determining my tastes for me. And I would disagree that it doesn't have anything to do with the S2K. You're using a very narrow definition of what has to do with the S2K if that's the case and I doubt the majority of readers of this board are using the same definition. And what about Bieg's post about the intangibles? I think Dliodoir deserves a better explanation than he's been given, that is assuming he's still reading this board. And I think the moderators should get their heads together and determine the EXACT criteria that will be used. They all seem to be using differing judgement on what to move. It needs to be consistent.
