Thanks, we know you dont HAVE to keep buying new stuff for the site, but its good to know the higher powers on this site post here daily and listen to our concerns

 

I'm not sure you are going to find a significant improvement in performance for a couple of days yet. The bottleneck for performance is the web servers. The database was more of a capacity problem than a performance one. The benefits of the database server will become appearent when the new web servers come online this weekend.

That said, the new db server didn't crash today and performed well and reliably all day I think I've got it dialed in pretty well but once I get the new webservers going the load on the database will increase and I'll need to monitor it closely next week.

Thanks darkfx. We needed some capital to improve the site and the membership has responded to the call. Making the site better is in everyone's interest and spending the money to upgrade our capacity is the right thing to do right now. People WILL notice a huge improvement as we move into next week.
