Can we implement a way to tell if members are owners or not? Seems like I waste time looking up peoples emails and send out invites only to get a reply like, "Hi, what's the event about? I'm 14 and don't have an S2K, but my parents might get me one when I turn 16. Can I have my parents take me to the event and follow in thier Volvo?" Kinda annoying. Any suggestions of do I just live with it?

I don't agree on deleting non posting members. If they are here lurking, fine. They're not getting in anyone's way. The car owner comment is good, but how could that be set up? I don't think everyone wants to post their VIN.

The car owner scenario should be honor system. Perhaps you set this up in your profile and all owners get a little car icon next to their name or something like this. I think the honor system would work pretty well at addressing the concerns for finding other owners.

Sounds good ... Now, let's hope the Administrators implement this suggestion.

There are 5x more lurkers than members. There are also a lot of members that have not posted in a while but still own the car. If fact, there are a lot of owners that have registered and never posted.

To be honest I am not at all sure what this has to do with the question at hand.

Nothing. I was just bumping my post count with trivia

Actually it was not in reference to the original question but rather the responses. As for the original question the answer is yes but it's not likely to be fool proof. It would depend on peeps filling out their profile in enough detail (like VIN). Many may not want to. I am open to suggestions however.

No need to do that. Just a couple lines of code or clicks, you can bump your post count to million... You are the administrator, aren't you?

I still think it should be on the honor system. Given the example in the first post, should that person have lied, their lie would have been uncovered. That person is reported and exposed. Stripped of all privileges and sent running naked into the cold wet night....Anyway, I think the system would filter out those few who lie about ownership when it comes up. Also, if you give no incentive to lie about it and explain why this is useful for getting meets or groups buys together, this should also help to mitigate the problem. Keep it simple.
