Default Pages lock up when scrolling

I've noticed with FF recently that when I'm scrolling through threads, sometime they just lock up. They'll recover in 5 seconds or I'll get a "FF has detected the page is slow, do you want to stop it" message.

Did anything change recently that might be causing this? I'd estimate a month or so? Also seems to be worse when there are images in the thread.

When it happens, it looks like this:

I use FF exclusively and don't have this issue on our community sites. You show to have a lot of open tabs plus extensions, so that might be the first thing to review.

It's actually not a lot of tabs for me, but I'll cleanup my side a bit and see if it clears up. TY!

I cleaned up a bit and still had the issue.

Went with a reinstall of Windows as I noticed it starting to happen in other apps too.

Could try clearing cookies and the cache to see if that helps.

I'd like to revisit this please.

I noticed its still happening. My gut tells me it happens in longer threads with the infinite scroll on (so no pages, just one long page) and when there's lots of embedded pictures.

After a PC rebuild, I have just one extensions running in FF. I also thought Lainey and someone else posted similar messages in one of the Vintage forums.

this is a firefox memory allocation bug, it's loading the entire thread, instead of just a page at a time or whatever. we can't resolve this as it's an FF problem, only with longer threads.

@astroboy Thank you for the acknowledgement.

Is there a user setting in S2KI somewhere to use standard pages vs the infinite scroll? - NM. I just didn't see it in the options page. Changed my setting to use pages as well as setting posts/page to 50. So far, so good.

@Lainey
I did find the setting to 50 posts/page, not sure if you are speaking of one change or two?

the ‘fix’ is to disable infinite scroll on desktop.
