I’ve recently updated my paint thread from 10 years ago with recent photos and noticed that none of the old photos are populating. i looked about 2 months ago and they worked. any idea why?

Where were the pictures posted from? They aren't hosted on the forum as you don't have a gallery setup.

 

I know that a long time ago I think you could copy/paste images into a post, but now it asks you to upload or provide a URL directly to the images. Maybe that is part of the issue. I do not see any links in that thread. Typically if it is a URL and the host site is broken, it will show a box stating the link is broken. Yours just has empty spots where the images were before but no error or anything like a link to a hosting site.

 

i was pretty sure that I uploaded them to s2ki directly back then. i didn’t use photo bucket or anything like that.

 

Might need some input from Internet Brands @IB Jason any ideas?

 

ok we’re getting somewhere. did the forum block tapatalk links? When i edit my post i see the boxes where the photo should be and clicking on it reveals the picture. i used tapatalk to visit s2ki back then and the images are uploaded via their servers.

I cant say for this forum, others I was on blocked all tapatalk stuff due to security issues way back so maybe we did that here, but other mods can confirm this hopefully. I would not think already posted things would be affected by that though but I could be missing something.

 

That is more than likely the issue, the images are basically hotlinked to a site the forum doesn't support any longer. You should be able to save the images from tapatalk (maybe) and then repost them in your thread.

This issue is because the images are hosted on a non-secure (http) server but are hotlinked on a secure (https) server (us).

Most browsers today are blocking this type of content for security claims:
https://blog.chromium.org/2019/10/no...out-https.html

This is why you can load the image directly in the browser but not when posted within a website that is using https (secure).
