Default PM system problem

Erik,

I found this out today. I sent one PM, addressed to THREE people. One of the three apparently has a full inbox, but it doesn't tell me which. So I don't know who got it, and who didn't. Not a huge problem to send it individually, but if there were a lot of people on the list, that would be a significant problem.

Gary

I don't think it would send at all in that instance, and you would need to remove them until it sends.

Not the site's problem that people have a full PM

AE-

I didn't say it was the site's problem that someone has a full inbox. I'm saying its a problem that I'm told that, but not WHO, so, effectively I've sent a PM to 10 people, and one (or more) has a full inbox. I don't know WHO to remove, and I don't know the status of the message sent to everyone else (although I could use the tracker for that if I knew it was going to happen).

The system is smart enough to know that, but doesn't tell me who. It seems like a remnant piece of code from prior to the change a while ago to allow CCs on PMs.

That appears to be the case. Going back through my sent, the originals don't appear to be there for the ones with the error.

Any chance of getting the TO and CC list to appear on the messages when looking at things in the sent box. Erik?

Thanks AE.

See which people are Guests - that helps eliminate who it is or isn't

That eliminates who's a guest and who's a member. Their membership status and inbox status are mutually exclusive (although it is more likely that a guest has a full inbox than a member).

While it may prove to be highly correlated, its not a given.

I was merely offering a suggestion to try and help eliminate full inboxes. The probability is much higher.

you could go one stage further and eliminate Gold members. It is very difficult to keep 50k messages

I guess I thought it was rather easy to tell me which inbox is full rather than me trying to guess based on other unrelated (but potentially helpful data).

There's a bounce message of sort, so the system has the data, its just a matter of displaying it rather than a generic message that likely goes back to the PM system prior to the ability to use CC's.

I can't see which PM box is full

The time it has taken to debate on here, you could have found out by now anyway
