Default post deletion

I have noticed on more than one occasion that my posts have been removed from a thread with no notice, and there is no evidence there ever was a post. It would be helpful if the mods would notify a person that a post was being deleted, and the reason for the removal. In addition, if the text of the post was removed, with just a note by the mod that the post had been edited, everyone could see that a post had been removed (including the original poster). I see no purpose served by the disappearance of a post with no trace, and no reason given, or even who did it.

If a person violates a forum rule, it would be helpful if that information was shared. You can hardly expect people to conform to some standard if you refuse to specify what standard has been violated. This is a concept that is universal in legal systems, for good reason. In the past, this has been the practice on this forum, but lately it seems to have been deemed unnecessary. Just a simple PM would be all that's necessary.

Thank you.

It would be helpful to everyone if you would not post messages that need to be removed. Read the rules and save everyone the trouble.

would be helpful if people didn't remove messages "just because." Show me where my post was violating any rules, and I'd be fine with it. As it is, on more than one occasion, it appears the rule being enforced was "disagrees with mod's opinion."

Since no-one can tell me what the offensive post contained, I'm going to have to assume it was a case of a mod getting his feathers bent :/

seeing as you fail to mention which forum and which thread in particular you are talking about i can probably talk for the whole moderating staff when I say that I have no clue what you are talking about.

Whilst I have a pretty good memory, I dont remember every member (or guest in your case) and every thread they have ever contributed to.

If you have a problem, help us to help you - and give us more details.

The general rule of thumb is common sense prevails. Idiotic posts normally get the chop.
