Default Rant: S2ki Is Now Far To Slow To Be Usable

With the new upgrade, I can honestly say, I'm rarely reading this board anymore-- not because I don't want to... but because I CAN'T.

It takes in the order of 30second to 1 minute to switch forums during the daytime.

Very obnxious, and quite sad-- I'de give up the new 'features' (which I don't use) back for the speed the board was before.

... I'm sure this post will take 15minutes to post ... /sigh

While I have noticed it being slower it takes nowhere near 30 seconds to a minute for me to switch forums. Are you using dial-up?

We're using three webservers to run the site now.

Problem: When one of the servers goes down, the other two can't keep up. We have a flakey server that's going down a lot in the past few days so when that happens, the site slows down or fails to load properly.

Solution: Add another webserver. This is what you guys who are members are paying for in part. The new dual-Xeon server is on the way and we hope to have it up and running sooner rather than later.

Well, in my experience it's been slightly faster than it was pre-redesign.

4th webserver should help.

It will make a huge difference. The flakey machine needs a reboot twice a day and is really killing the site. Once the new one gets online we can take the other one down and give it a good talking to
