During its very short lifetime, S2000 Online already has become one of the most useful and informative automotive-enthusiast boards around. However, as this forum grows, there seem to be more and more off-topic and general-interest-topic postings. So, here's the question: Should S2000 Online allow all types of postings

It's good to have versatility...

Yeah, I support versatility as well.

Yes, s2000online is going in the right direction. I propose S2000 only in the car talk forum, and OT in the OT forum. The forums are set up for their specific purpose. Or have we learned all there is to learn? Doubt it IMO

I too have some of the same irritations. My problem, though, could be solved if somehow off-topic posts could be shuffled to the end of the new-posts search.

Lose the off-topic crap. Instead of pulling the garbage out of the regular forums, it's created a new forum for even more garbage.

More than 50% of the new posts in the last 24 hours have been "Off Topic".

Add the option of letting us block the forums we don't want to see when viewing new posts.

Dude, seriously, there have been days when Off Topic has saved my bacon. You know, go into work feeling all blah and then read a funny story or hear a tale that makes you crack up...it's worth it to have to skip past the OTs when scanning the new threads, trust me. Life is short...death is forever!!

As long as the posts stay in the right forum, who cares? Car talk goes in Car Talk. Group buys should stay in Group Buys. Off topic stuff should stay in Off Topic.

There is no reason to force guys to go to another forum to post funny jokes, if they could stay here and share them with their friendly fellow owners. Remember, this is a community; not everything will be focused on the S2000, some of it will be focused on sharing experiences and building relationships.

My (off-topic) 2 cents,
Tanqueray

If you prefer not to view other posts except for just S2000 related posts then don't use the new posts feature. Just visit the S2000Online.com main page then you can select the appropriate forum you would like to read. It's all about convenience, versatility, and diversity (IMO). Many of us here share other common interests rather than just S2000. So let's just enjoy the great community we have here. Last but not least, I think we are doing a fairly good job of keeping OT related threads out of the Car Talk forum.
