Any way we could add the "see who's on" feature?

On a related note . . . How do you "log in" to the board? I know if I post then I will show up in the "who's on" feature but if I haven't posted I show up as "guest".
The above is from my experience on H-A.net but it seems to work the same here as I can not access the members info unless I have posted first. Fortunately this is not difficult.

I have a related question...is there any way to let the computer know I've "logged out"? I'll come back sometimes and it will say that I have new posts, when in fact they were new the last time I was logged in.

The answer to both of your questions is cookies. When you logon, ie. type your username and password like when posting, UBB sets a cookie. When you come back next time it reads the cookie and logs you on. It also shows you which forums have new posts since the last time you logged on. They don't work very well however and seem to get confused easily. I'd like to take a closer look at a future time to see if it can't be improved without major reconstruction.

Well, sometimes it reads the cookie and sometimes not. More often not in my case. Probably not your fault as I have the same problem on H-A.net. It would be great if you can fix this.
