I can no longer update my avatar with the photo's I have in my album. I have done this prior to my recent membership renewal without incident and now I get the following message.

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.
The error returned was:
You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar or personal photo

Funny thing is I uploaded these very image's in the past with no problem.

 

It's got nothing to do with your membership and more to do with the file you're uploading. Are you trying to set your avatar from within your gallery by clicking the avatar button or are you trying to do it in MyS2K by editing your profile settings. If the latter you need to make sure the image you are uploading is the right size. If you do it via the gallery it will resize the file for you.

Try uploading the image to your gallery first (MyS2K -> Your Albums) then view the image by clicking on it and click the avatar button. It's harder to explain than do.

That error sounds like you are uploading the image directly to your profile and the image is too big in dimension or filesize.

 

cthree, can you test it from the gallery - someone else reported it giving an error to me the other day, I just resized it for them and they uploaded on that occasion. I will find the one I am referring to....

 

It looks like I was trying to update the image through my profile as it works fine doing it through my albums. Thanks for clarifying cthree, I will know for next time.
