Site organization
Bottom line, the organization on this site for topics is horrible. Just a suggestion, but dsmtuners.com has probably the best layout for forums that there is. Also, if there was a way to gather together all the How-Tos, it'd be great.

Give some solid suggestions, which would suit the topic organisation we use here. I think some constructive suggestions would go down much better than a "this is rubbish, look at x, it is better" it has to work for what we discuss here and what the forum and communites are about.
Try using it first, before blowing it out. And contribute by paying membership to help the site's development

With all due respect, the organization of this site is not actually that different except that we have about 50 regional club forums they don't have and 4 times the number of posts they also don't have. S2KI has evolved over the past 5 years based on feedback from users and decisions made by the admins to better server the needs of THIS community. I appreciate your feedback but there isn't much we can or would do to change the organization of the site. It suits the needs of S2000 owners pretty well with a few exceptions. I'm sure there are plenty of people who prefer the organization of this site to others of similar stripe.
Bottom line, you can't please everyone you can only try to not piss off most of them.

you'd have to agree about the organization though. Here is what they have for example:
-Archives
Frequently Answered DSM Questions. <--for newbie answers
Tech Articles <--tons of user-submitted how-tos
Vendor Announcements <--for the vendors
-General Tech
Newbie Forum <-self explanitory. All easy questions asked here
Problem Diagnosis <--again, self explanitory
Non-Turbo Performance <---can be replaced with "vtech forum or something"
Suspension Tuning <-- self explanitory
Drivetrain/Tranny <-- self explanitory
Non-Performance Mods (interior/exterior) <--self explanitory
-Advanced Tech
Engine Performance <--more advanced topics and questions here
Tuning Talk <--EGT Temps, Datalogging, SAFC, standalones
Nitrous Forum <--- for those who love the juice
Extreme Tech Forum <-- Engine building, blueprinting, not for basic stuff
-Community
Dsm Meets & Events <--- nation wide
Track Talk <-- can be split up, but covers autox and 1/4mile
The Hangout <-- all off topic threads
Site Feedback <-- self explanitory
Then you could the local forums. They have a classified too that I hate...I really like the forums for sales. With it setup like this, there is little confusion as to where to post a question or topic, and it slows the forums down so that the thread gets more/longer exposure to allow those questions to be answered.
Just trying to contribute my experiences and help this site become what it has the potential to achieve.

Like I said, I am a long time reader. Had an S2000 about 2 years ago and have been reading ever since. I lost my previous user name, so I had to reregister. If the deal goes though, I'll be an owner of another S2000 and I would have no problem paying for this site.

Joe,
Good luck on your purchase of another S2000! Like I said above what seems organized to one person can seem unclear and muddied to another. The layout is not ideal but then it didn't start this way either. It's a house that has addition after addition added to it. The only option to change that is to tear it down and rebuild from scratch. That's not realistic so we are stuck working with what we have. Even if I wanted to change it I probably couldn't in this lifetime and would only upset thousands of people who can't find anything anymore. Organization is something you get used to and when someone changes it all around on you then you get upset.
I could change it to suit you and the dsmtuner.com members but then I would upset and anger the s2ki.com members and that's not something I'm keen to do. Sorry. It is what it is.

Very tactful post. I still think that afew sections should be added atleast, such as performance upgrades section and handling sections, but that's just me.
Thanks for the replies, and see you on other threads.
