Site Stats, interesting observations
So I was browsing around the site stats looking as operating system usage trends. Here is what I found:
Windows users over the past 3 months made up 88.29% of all visits, down from 89.19% the 3 months prior.
Macintosh users: 8.61% up from 7.91%
iPhone users: 1.83% up from 1.53%
Linux users: 0.54% up from 0.51%
iPod (touch) users: 0.11%, same as prior 3 months
Everything else is below 0.1% of visits.
Just some pointless trivia to help pass the rest of the day...

Browser stats are actually a little more interesting. I'll post them maybe tomorrow but in general IE accounts for about 50%, Firefox 38%, Safari 8% and the new kid on the block, Chrome, for 2%. That may not sound like much for Google's new browser but those 2% came ENTIRELY out of IE's pocket which was 2.5% higher last month and not at all from Firefox which actually gained share, if not much, over the same period. Opera accounted for just 1%, slightly higher than the month before.
The conclusion is pretty clear. Microsoft is losing OS market share in a big way but not only that, it's losing browser share even faster.

I wasn't making any in respect to Chrome other than the gain in Chrome share coincides with a decline in IE share. All of the others were largely flat from months to month. Only Chrome and IE had any significant change in share and they were roughly proportional.
