I noticed, am I missing something or do you have to be a member, I was a guest before and had a avatar but one day it vanished

 

Now, let me get this right....

An Owner gets the use of a custom avatar (up to 5k and no bigger than 100x100 pixels I think)
A Member gets a signature too. (Amongst many other benefits)

Make sure your image is within the size limits
