I don't read s2000online while at work, so when I come home in the evening I find a ton of new and updated topics to go through. I love the fact that the site is so active, but sometimes its very difficult to track the threads I'm particularly interested in. Has anybody suggested a forum split yet? Perhaps:

Performance For technical discussion of Comptech SC, Mugen exchaust, tire options, rotors, etc.
Appearance Body kits, Hesel leather, stereos, bras, paint care...
Some other name - "Genaral"? A place for the dealer evaluations, S2000 sightings, weather reports, various anecdotes, other cars, insurance...

I'm not sure about that third thingy, but I'd be interested in having the first two. The traffic on the site is amazing. Many kudos to cthree!

That's perhaps a good idea, though some folks like it and others don't.

For instance, www.impreza-rs.com A few months ago, the Admin broke the site up into about 15 boards. Most of the members didn't like it, as though the original "General, "Technical" and "Other" forums were crowded, the new format was too confusing.

It can work, it just depends how it's split.
Impreza-rs is now in good shape, with more forums than the early days, but more consolidated than that other format.

Does UBB have a voting facility by which we could get an idea of what the membership thinks? There's probably not too much concern with the current layout, since I haven't noticed any discussion of it before, but I'd be curious to know if many other feel as I do.

The challenge is to maintain a sense of community within an organized framework. Having one forum to deal with all topics related to the S2K makes it easy for people to see many different threads, but with the consequence of quickly moving topics off the bottom of the screen. As mentioned, fragmenting the board too much will reduce the sense of community. I like the way we have different forums and think some of the recent confusion is that redirection has been inconsistently applied. That said, it is the unpaid efforts of a few of us that allow us to have this excellent board. I doubt that there is any malicious intent with moving posts, just people trying to make a good thing better. Thanks to all of you!

I suggest that before any future "crackdowns" the guidelines for posting to different forums be reviewed. It is through advanced warning and discussion that feelings of disenfranchisement may be averted.

The answer to your question lies with the multiple threads related to the shit fit some members have thrown over me moving a few posts.

Cthree,

I've said this in several of my other posts today but you're too f*cking stubborn to actually READ the posts. You're like Woody Harrelson in "White Men Can't Jump". You listen, but you can't hear Jimmy...Anyways, the issue that caused the ruckus today had NOTHING to do with the fact that there are multiple forums. Let me repeat that for the stubbornness impaired - it had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE FORUMS. It was about you moving completely ON TOPIC threads from their rightful forum to other forums because YOU thought they weren't ON TOPIC. Yet, everyone who has voiced an opinion on the on topic nature of any of those threads, including Bieg's which you still won't concede as being on topic, have said that they felt those threads were ON TOPIC. So get off your freakin' stubborn ass high horse and differentiate between what happened today and multiple forums, because they are two totally separate issues that have nothing to do with each other.

Everyone who replied felt my post was on topic but cthree.

Why?

Well here is the full text of the private message I got from him:

[QUOTE]Your comments aside. The reason I moved your thread is because you are a contrite pompous
