v4 is significantly different. It's an entirely new software base. Some things will be familiar, some strange and some you'll figure out easy enough.

The main difference between v3 (current) and v4 is how we will be able to maintain it. This doesn't translate to anything fancy except that we on the development side are looking at open road ahead instead of a dead end.

Newer more integrated features more quickly and greater overall stability and the ability to continue to scale up the system capacity.

The library is brand new
The forums are new but familiar
The gallery is brand new
Member email is completely integrated into the site
plus more...

 

New update see annoucement

We have finalized the shutdown time for the site to begin the change over to our new software platform. The site will close at 6PM Pacific Time on Wend. June 30th and remain closed for at least 48 hours.

The data migration from the old system to the new will take a significant amount of time. 48 hours is a minimum. If we get the site back online by Sunday eve I would be happy.

Following the data migration we will open up the site to members and gold members only for a short time to make sure everything works ok and was converted properly. Our membership will be forced to act as beta testers until we can confirm everything is AOK and can support the full load of normal everyday traffic.

All of this should happen within the 5 day window between Wend at 6PM and Sun at 6PM.

 

I've been trying to become a member for a couple of days now, but have not been able to. Is this transition time causing my page not load?
