The webpages seem to take forever to load nowadays. Is it because of the server? I have Cable and T3 line in school and it still takes a while to load them.

Never had a problem until recently. So whats the verdict here? Anyone?

I have noticed that the loading has slowed in the very recent past. I have a DSL at my home/office and it generally zips along nicely. And occasionally, after I post a message it times out and I have to go back and submit it again.

I almost started this thread today!

I noticed very slow response time loading pages and even got a few "Could not find server" responses starting yesterday. I initially attributed this to our generally crappy network and DNS at work, but when I got home yesterday I experienced the same thing on my cable modem.

Then I remembered that I had upgraded Internet Explorer on all of my machines, both at work at at home to 5.5 SP1. The systems at work were upgraded on Wednesday afternoon before I left for the holiday and the ones at home were upgraded on Friday morning. I was getting ready to be really bummed that the browser might be the problem.

I'm also getting the same problem as Greg where the system times out when submitting a reply and I have to hit the Back button and re-post it.

I left a message for cthree yesterday about this. He just got back from vacation late last night so I suspect that he will be looking into the problem shortly.

(I'm also moving this to the Service Bay!)

I'm on DSL, which is generally great, but sometimes, opening (any) web pages becomes painful; the system just gets slower and slower until the only thing I can do is reboot the PC...then it's O.K. again. My PC is a Gateway - which might have something to do with it. I don't think it's the internet or service provider that causes slow page loading.

Ditto! Having problems with refresh, posting and page loading. Doesn't matter whether I'm Mac,PC ,T1 or 500K cable. All timing out today.

Yes there is a problem but I haven't figured it out yet. It seems that the network interface on the server "stalls" for a bit every few minutes. Sessions time out from time to time. I've eliminated some possibles as to the cause but have not worked through them all yet. The problem was accute at around 11PM PST last night but seemed to go away by around 1AM. I will be monitoring the situation looking for a cause.

Cheers and thanks for the heads up!
