I posted this in the corner to discus with some pals, but I would like to get some other opinions from members, owners, guests, moderators.

This is not a flame! This is not a rant! Just a thought! Please read and respond as such.

Is it possible to set up an advisory board for policy changes ,etc? The board could be set up in many ways, members only, members+guests+moderators, etc, or a weighted combination thereof.

I love this site and personally have brought many new owners/guests to it through organizing local events. I do feel somewhat slighted that we have no say or voice on changes that affect all of us. Obviously management does care about our opinions because I know a lot of gold members expressed distaste for the new badge and a change was made.

I realize this site is a for profit business and hard decisions have to be made. That being said it IS a public forum where people gather to express different viewpoints so why not let some have a say on changes that affect everyone?

I sit on my local Chamber of Commerce's Executive Board. Yes, we are responsible for voting, bylaws and decisions, however the membership at large is always welcome to have a voice on all voting issues.

If this idea ever comes to fruition I would like to volunteer to be part of it.

I think he means an advisory board that will include all types of owners/guests/enthuiasts/members/mods/admin so that when decisions are made, there can possibly be a resolution to satisfy everyone..

A mod is a user/member/enthusiast too. Why should non paying guests have a say in what happens? Just MO

Like Aquila says, such a council already exists. The moderators are this council. The mods aren't some special club or clique. They are people from the community: owners, non-owners, members and guests. For local and regional affairs we have another council of Community Organizers.

Both of these groups propose, comment on and help shape site policy.

You are more than welcome to PM HondaGal and request to become a moderator. If you want to focus your efforts locally you can contact your COs and request such. You however realize that once you become a moderator you are just as corrupt as all the other mods. Beware what you ask for...
