Hi everyone,

picking up from my last thread, I can't reply because I don't get a "Reply" button

How do I post? Easy....

This is what I see when I log on...

So I find my "Poster" entry, click on my name, go to "last Post" and there's the thread

Anyway, sorry for the delay in posting this. The Garonne burst its banks and this was what Jill and I were preoccupied with these last few days

We hear the alert siren. listen to the code, 3 long blasts and 1 short one, decipher that as "9 metres 25 cm" and start panicking! BTW, the computer is in that lot somewhere

This is a neighbour from our bedroom window about 2 p.m. in the afternoon. The flood peaked 12 hours later. The water reached 2 feet up his wall.

This our neighbour looking up the road the other way, taken about dusk, with the water still rising at 6cm+ per hour

This is another neighbour going back to his house at about 17:30

And you thought you had escaped flooding when you moved from Shrewsbury, eh Pete?! The Garonne makes the Severn look like a little stream.......

I'll post a copy of this into site info so that krazik and/or cthree can see what they make of your screenshot of the missing thread titles.

You're right about the Garonne; it's awesome.... but that shot of the guy in the boat isn't the river; he's actually going back up the road to Villeton!

Here's a pic of the river taken in summer

BTW, did you notice the curved-topped barn in the distance in this pic?

As you can guess, we are on slightly higher ground than our neighbours. Although our garden and barn were partially submerged, the water peaked 15 cms from the point where it would have entered the house

I can only assume this is an IE bug. Clear your cache and cookies and see if that helps. Check "delete all offline content". IE has some issues although it's usually the graphics that get buggered and not the text.

Maybe it is something to do with France

I've also looked on the vbb site and can't see anything related either. I have asked pete to look at another site powered by vbb and see if that acts strangely too. - why i dunno but i did
