Why can I not upload an avatar ?

Why do I always get an error message when I try to upload a new avatar (jpeg photo off my HD) ? The message always says "You cannot upload a personal photo or avatar ... ". Also, how do I post photo's in a thread ?

The answer to both is to use your personal gallery on s2ki. Go to MyS2K. Click Your Albums at the top left of the sidebar menu.
