Default Will we ever have MyS2K again?

I've gotten used to the new S2ki but I still sorely miss the old MyS2K which would bring up all the threads I posted in that had new posts in them after mine.

Will S2ki ever get something back like the old MyS2K?
It's the greatest loss with the update. I think not having that alone lost many of the people who used to post regularly.

People have to remember that mys2k was a custom design (hack) by cthree. The time and effort needed now to recreate something with this new software is much time needed and no guaranttees that it will work. The new software has it's downfalls, but also it strengths and I think the strengths out way the things we miss.

Some of the fun things we had are missed by even us, not just the members. However, we have to move on and ensure the site is stable. With out all the custom work that was done the site was essentially broken before.

With the version of software used as I post this, someone who is signed-in can click on 'Watch This Topic' whether or not they have replied in a topic. The way one can be kept up to date on a discussion has changed, but one doesn't need to check on their 10 favorite topics with each visit just to know if someone else has posted since their last visit.

Thank you, wdtd. I am really only interested in topics that I've posted in. But just the same, if you do as you said with Watch This Topic, then what? Do you get an email (if you've set your preferences that way), when someone posts? Am I missing something? I've got my settings set so that if someone quotes me I'll get an email.

HondaGal, I don't know about the software used by different forums but I can say that on NSXPrime, they have a button so you can subscribe to threads. Then you can click on User CP (User Control Panel) and it will list the threads you've subscribed to that have new posts. It ends up being the same thing as MyS2K for the threads I subscribe to.

Go to "My Settings" in the drop down menu. Then Notification Options and check box "watch every topic I reply to" and also select Immediate Notification.
Now your "watched Content" a few sections below "recent status updates" on main forums becomes the old "MyS2k". You just have to select "topics" everytime.

It only starts to update what you reply to after you do this setting.

That looks like the best option we can do with what the software gives us.

Would be great, if it worked.

I turned on that option and have replied to tons of threads today, not one shows up in my watched topics tab.

Works for all the folks I showed so far.... Do you have it on "Immediate Notification"?
