Caroll Spinney, the man who played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street for half a century died at the age of 85. Everyone knew the characters he played and lots of kid learned about friendship, numbers and alphabet from them

How many kids were influenced by the ideals these characters represented. We should all leave such a significant legacy.

 

I think it's amazing that he was still in the suit at 80 years old. I'm sure the number of children of all ages he would have influenced must be nearing the billions. An excellent innings.

 

My kids grew up with them and Mr.Rogers. They all had a positive influence on kids of all ages and will be sorely missed. RIP.
