Default Family Gathering - Westminster, MD - Things to do?

My nephew is getting married on 10/10/2020. Our hotel is in Westminster, MD. Family will be coming from the north and south. A few of us thought of arriving a day or two early to spend some time together. Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what we might do that is not too far from our base in Westminster?
So far I found a winery........

Lainey, Westminster is only 30 minutes away from Gettysburg PA.... lots to do there if you have an interest in the Civil War. It is a nice town.

Westminster is also not that far from Baltimore, but these days I go out of my way to avoid B-more city if at all possible.

Thanks all!
Emil a Canadian tour advisor for the US! Pretty cool!

We'd be in the avoiding traffic boat along with you Roy. We've been to Gettysburg a couple of times, I think family members have as well, but I'll toss it out there. Thank you!

If you are willing to drive down to Gaithersburg, you can park your car at Shady Grove Metro Station (Red Line) and take Metro to DC. This way, you can avoid driving to DC and still enjoy a museum or two. WMATA (Metro) is not too bad. You can check it out at WMATA.com.
