Too true. It isn't limited to the auto delaerships but, it seems, in a lot of corporate thinking. More with less is usually a lot less with less.

Maybe this explains why it often now takes several trips back to a dealer until something is really fixed? The dealer gets reimbursed for 2 or 3 'flat rate' jobs....while you get stuck with 2-3 visits to the friendly local service meister

It's not only that Jerry. My oldest son works as a tech for a Dodge/Chrysler dealership.
Him and the other techs HATE working on warranty stuff because they get stiffed on the pay. The real money for a mechanic (and dealership as the article pointed out) is in the repair of off-warranty cars.
