Default Honda Motor Co., Ltd. 2005 Annual Report

Today I received my copy of the 2005 Annual Report of the Honda Motor Co., Ltd. As I expected it is quite nice and very well done. I thought I'd share some of it with you.

The cover features a picture of the Ridgeline. I was surprized to see this. I expected to see a new Civic. The Civic hasn't been forgotten there is an entire section devoted to it. More on that later, first the cover.

Immediately after the president's message is the narrative section detailing the operations of the company. This page is the lead page to that section. Notice the S2000's photo right next to the NSX. These two photos are also on the lead page for the subsection about "Financial Services".

The Civic. Honda has high expectations for the new Civic. There is a 9 page section in the Review of Operations section devoted to the Civic. It celebrates it's history, story, expectations and technology. It is quite a section. Here are the history and technology pages.

Finally, in the Review of Operations is the page with the photos of management.

Now the important stuff. The financials. First the Consolidated Balance Sheets. As expected Honda has a strong balance sheet.

Next, the Consolidated Statments of Income. Honda had a good year. Income is up from last year.

Finally the Consolidated Statements of Cash Flows. Honda had positive cash flows in general and especially important, Honda had positive cash flows from operations. Not surprisingly, cash flows from investing is negative and cash flows from financing activities is positive.

All in all, Honda had a very good year, and it looks like they expect to have another very good year.

There is also a very neat history of the Honda Motor Co., Ltd on the back page, but the print is too small to read in the scan.

I'm sorry if the print in the scans that I posted is too small to read. I'd hoped the scans would be readable. If you're interested you can probably get a copy of the annual report by contacting Honda at

Honda North America, Inc.
New York Office
540 Madison Ave, 32nd Floor
New York, NY 10022

212-355-9191

You can also go to http://world.honda.com/ Once there, click on Investor relations and you should be able to find the Annual Report.

Or, if you send me your e-mail address in a pm, I'll send the .pdf file of the Annual Report to you.
