BITSA asked me if I had seen this car and I didn't even know what a Ford GT was. I went back today and got photos of a white one and a red one, after only seeing red one last night when we went by. The marked up price on the white one was dropped by $120,000 or so, after they got the red one in and had two.
Thanks for sharing the photos. These cars look magnificent. I am sure the price is a bargain for what you are getting in these ultimate Christmas gift.
Finally the Ohio Racer is back on line! I imagine you were licking your wounds from Indian's demise. I am trying to get over the Yankee's loss. But who cares! We are in football season now! Go Cowboys!
Patty, that would be a BIG step up from the desert bike but what the heck........... go for it.
I suspect this will get some flames but I just don't get all excited when I see one. Would I love to have one............ you bet. Give me one with Dan Gurney's name and AJ Foyt's name scribbled in felt marker on the dash and I would think I was in heaven but . . .
the truth of the matter for me is when I see this All American LeMans Winning Icon I see a headline that reads "What Price LeMans!" Followed by the story of an automobile giant who after years of trying finally beat a small Italian firm at LeMans and after spending mega bucks to do so finally one.

You are correct. And while the White Sox have gotten stronger, we keep losing guys and signing nobody's.
Dave, I like the looks from the front but I think the rear end is ugly from the side. The sales guy was telling me all about how fast it was and the horsies and torque, etc. and I was thinking it would be fun to drive, once.
Little history lesson here--see that tiny black spoiler on the back? It's called the "Gurney Flap", designed by Dan Gurney and used to increase lift. It's nice to see that Ford is honoring the history of the GT.

^Yuck.
I wonder what insurance discounts it qualifies for?
Actually, its the only Ford I've ever wanted. I think they are simply the most beautiful cars ever produced by Ford. And that they (Ford) spent so much money to beat Ferarri, so what? I think it's quite an accomplishment to dominate LeMans (finishing 1,2,3) after only a few years of participation.
I don't think I'd give up my S for one. I've always preferred open sportscars, but if I had the money and time for a second "sometime" sportscar, this might be the one. The red one, not the white one. The white one is way too plain.
There were five of them this morning at Crystal Cove. The blue with white stripe was very nice. I got a kick out of the two red and white ones trying to pass each other in the parking lot. It just reminds me of what an jaded view you could get living here. So the talk is that the price is coming down, the car can be bought for 167K, not the plus 200k that some of the early people supposedly paid.
Both of the people I know who have them love them and maybe one day I will too.
