5 & 3/4 qrts is what i use... but then i have a SC that uses some of it as well...
5 qrts on a stock motor is not enough... 5 & 1/2 qrts should just about do it.

ALL the way to the top of the XXX's. About 5.6 quarts is what the manual says.

My manual says 5.1 quarts with filter change. I have found it takes 5.5 to get the level back to the top X, which is where it was when delivered from the factory.

This has always been a question with the preludes as well. You put in what the maunal tells you to and the oil level does not reach max mark on dip stick. So, this raises the following question:

1- Does the oil level have to be at the MAX or it's ok as long as it's between Max & Min.

If I remember right, honda tells you to add oil only if it's "at or below the min mark", so if it's in the middle it should be ok? Also, with the prelude I noticed that if I keep it at the middle it does not burn at the same rate - i.e the first half quart burns faster than the other half quart - because it's excess oil?

I need 5.5 (apx) quarts in mine, the extra .5 is after the engine has been run with the new filter for a few seconds (5 quarts reads full before that).

Since VTEC is effected by oil pressure, having the oil level topped out seems like a good thing ... but don't over do it

I recently did my secomg oil change on my S and I too had to add a little more than 5qts.

It also depends on which oil filter your using. I use OE Honda, I think that there are some other brands that might be a bit bigger and hold a little more oil or vise versa.
