heat wraping intake?
i was wondering if heat wrapping your intake piping would my any difference,
i had a k&n intake but i installed a injen intake. my friend has a evo and he gave me the heat wrap that came with his apexi downpipe. im just curious

on long runs i guess it would give you some benefits since it would prevent the occurence of heat soak however I don't think the difference would be significant enough for you to feel it. use the heat wrap on your header instead.
Keep in mind, the header / manifold / downpipe wrap is designed to hold in heat (insulate) the exhaust pipe, not reflect the heat away. The gold or silver heat reflecting foil would be the corect choice.

Use gold reflective foil.
Yes I know they did it in the McLaren F1 but it was the entire engine bay not just the intake.

Please do not use Gold Reflective Foil. Had a kid down here in S. Fl do it and we measured the heat difference and it was the same. This is a bling factor not a performance mod.

One thing I know for sure is, you won't be hurting anything by having thermal tape / wrap on the intake pipe. The heat wrap for headers, downpipes and etc would be working in the wrong direction I believe.
