Hey guys, I was in need of replacing my old top strikers, so went to the local yard and yanked a pair off either an 02 or 03 model. Noticed quite a diference in the two, I tried searching on this but all that came up was a new style thicker plate with the rubber in it. The pair that I pulled at the yard was definately thicker but has no rubber insert or place for one, and is also a lot taller where it dimples in at the top. Can I use these with my 01 or do I need year specific catches? Or are these hard top strikers, because the car in the junkyard was missing almost everything...

Well in case anyone cares, the newer plates worked like a charm. I just found it interesting that they were a totally different shape than the older ones and have no rubber insert.

 

Lol I don't know much but could the new ones possibly be hardtop strikers?

 

thats what I was wondering, apparently no one has seen this style striker before?

 

I think 02+ strikers are hardtop and softop strikers, they only used 1 style after 02... I just bought a OEM hardtop yesterday and am using my 02 strikers that came with the car...
