Default Brakes & Rotors

Its that time for my first brake upgrade/replacement, and I think I've narrowed it down:

Pads: Carbotech AX6
Rotors: Centric Plain Rotors
Lines: Stainless (not sure on brand yet)
Fluid: ATE Super Blue

I'm somewhat undecided however on going with the AX6 vs XP8 & XP10 setup that a lot of people are running. I'll be mainly driving 90% street, 9% mountain and maybe 1 track day if at all.

I don't care about dust or noise, but don't want to eat through rotors or pads like no other, but I do want some better braking performance. I came across a great thread a while back that I couldn't find again that compared all of the common brake pads (Yellowstuff, Redstuff, XP8, XP10, etc). Does anyone have a link to it? I've searched extensively, making me think someone linked to it from here to a different forum.

As far as my driving style and brake usage, I think I'm a relatively light braker. The current rotors have about 5-6mm thickness, and pads look fine. The brakes were all replaced right before I purchased the car at 27k miles, and I now have 64k on the car.

Any suggestions/comments?

You said you'll be mostly DDing, and you don't care about dust and noise, so those AX6 are fine. They feel great and are light on the rotors.

I would just go- with Goodridge Lines ($110). I have them on my car right now with XP8's, But I track 30%, Mountain 40% and just drive 30%.

I'm thinking about the same rotors or stoptech. ATE Blue is a good choice.

We've had lots of luck with the Challenge Brake lines. They have a nice teflon coating to keep debris from getting into the stainless weave and compromising the integrity of the line. I know the older Goodridge lines didn't have this coating, unsure of the new ones. Whatever lines you go for, I highly recommend making sure they are coated.

i have challenge lines and they're good.
also come with "DOT" marking on them.

rotors maybe get Centric Premium and not Plain.

regarding xp10/xp8 setup - it migh not work good on staggered tires setup.

On the brakes note, I just put some Dixcel Disc and Pads (R01) and HEL brake lines and I am really happy with them. (DMS motorsport sort it out!)
Very powerfull and fade free.

I tested them with 2 track days back to back in Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps and was really impressed.
On the video below, 25min of abuse at Spa...
