Time for new brakes
I'm in the market for some new brakes and need some help.
I'm not really interested in a BBK because I personally don't think its all that necessary as the S2000 brakes just fine and I don't really track my car, just some spirited canyon runs from time to time.
I'm looking to pick up some new rotors and pads. Any ideas?
I've heard nothing but good things about Hawk HPS pads for daily/spirited driving so I think I'll probably go with those unless someone knows of a better choice.
The real stumper is which rotor to go with
I'm leaning towards slotted right now but can't figure out which brand to go with.
There's Rotora, PowerSlot, 88rotors, DBA...Stoptech also has a stage 2 kit which includes 4 rotors and pads with SS brake lines and Motul brake fluid. I was just planning on picking up some rotors and pads but this seems like a good deal too.
If you've ever used any of these rotors please feel free to give me some feedback.
Thanks

Honestly...just get SS lines and Motul 600 or ATE Super Blue brake fluid. Stock rotors and pads are more than good for daily and occasional spirited driving.
Nice car by the way! Good luck on the sale You're right though, S2000's already come with a nice brake setup, I just figured I'd improve on it a little though if I'm already changing my pads. My car has about 92K miles on it and I figure the rotors might need replacing too..I should probably get the digital calipers out and measure them. Another thing that makes me want to go with new rotors is that they'll probably have a black hat which will look good with my CE28 time attack's and I won't have to worry about rust anymore.
I'm not trying to spend thousands of dollars here, just some OEM sized rotors and pads with Motul brake fluid and I'll be set
The Stock pads are also pretty good for track days.
I've read about drilled/slotted rotors cracking at the track. Hell, I've heard of the stock rotors cracking at the track. Either would be fine for spirited driving though. I'd at least go with something that's zinc-plated, to keep them looking shiny.
