Actually with the new 17" macbook pro, the 15" 2.0ghz duo was lowered to $2k (was at $2.5k) and the 15" 2.16ghz duo was put at $2.5k (it was at $2.7k before) and they stopped making the 15" 1.8ghz (that one was at $2k). I've thought of picking one up but it still seems like a lot of money especially since it would only be for work... and I'd rather not spend the money I make from work to help my work.

I honestly think his price is fair, considering you can currently buy a refurbished notebook directly from apple for the same price (and same specs) with tax factored in as well. But of course, we all want a good deal.

Bump!

true, but not true.

the only thing changing with the bump is the speed in the processor. the entire 2.0 ghz line (which was the top of the line when i bought) did not move to $2k only the processor did. i still have 256 meg vid card which is insane. Cinema 4d which turned universal runs as fast if not faster(if i had 2 gigs of RAM) than a dual g5 2.0 tower, me and my friend clocked em, rendered the same exact file took the same amount of time, but the tower had 2 gigs of RAM. you also get 20 gigs more hard drive space which= waaaaayyyy more p0rn . and you get double the RAM in 1 slot.

so for the price you are really only losing .17 Ghz. can u really notice that difference on a 2ghz+ processor? plus i have the good batch of serial numbers which are problem free.

anyway, i was just guaging interest, and no one has shown any for now. and besides i just found out the regular macbook which is the SEX in black does not come with a dedicated GPU (cheap bastards, i would have paid more for at least that option). i may close this thread which has no interest and re-open it when the macbook gets its own GPU. my Pro will probably still sell for ~2k when that happens.

so, have a nice day, and thank you for shopping the meth network.

I would KILL for this... but I don't want to go to jail Good luck with your sale... wish I had the money for it! Good price. I just saw the new Macbook yesterday at the Apple Store, they didn't have them out on display yet, but they brought one out for people to see. The black one is so svelte! As nerdy as this may sound... you're going to love the way it closes

I looked at the macbooks as well, but I just hate the plastic! It looks nice in black, but it would be better if a macbook came in that color but in the metalish type of casing.
