Thumbs up All things Exhausting

One of the most popular and crucial mods people do to their car, for noise, power, looks, etc.. is an Exhaust. Some of us install great exhaust with great HP gains plus an excellent db tone, but thats not always the case. Some produce nice gains but are riddiculously loud or vice versa. And then there are the ones that are just canisters that get welded to the stock exhaust by some rinky dinky muffler shop and thats just basically noise with no gains what so ever.

Whatever you goal is directed in share your info with the rest of us and or experiance with the many exhausts that you have experimented with. If you havent had any at all and still rolling stock, this is the thread you want to keep your eyes peeled on as you might find out intresting facts about an exhaust your pondering on buying.

Tanabe Medallion w/ berk test pipe!! it's a very quite exhaust even with test pipes, i can still carry out conversation with my bluetooth while driving...as for power gain, it "felt" like mid to top end was a little bit more "stronger"

Invidia for me:

>>Looks much better than the Ap1 exhaust

>> Sounds awesome (and yes we all pretty much know how it's loud some more hardcore people take it some hate -although i believe a sportscars must sound like it- etc etc etc )

>> Power gains? humm i don't even remember no more how it was B4 invidia, all i know is that my Ap1 pulls hard from a roll .... definitely didn't loose power .. maybe i make an extra 1HP .. loud? who cares as long it doesn't sound like a fart civic coffee can ...

Single 3" stainless Inline pro from the down pipe back. Does drone a little, but that's what you have to deal with if you want the most flow.. Not to thread jack, but anybody have any experience with silencing material? i.e. Dynamat, skin etc. What is the best in your opinion?

Well I used to have the Apexi WSII it looked nice & was really quiete but no gains?? So I opted for the Megan Racing Single Drift-Spec...Man what a diffrence, I can really feel the gains on the butt dyno, Its very light, and although loud it can be controled with the throttle. Its a nice looking single but the angle on the muffler is a bit extreme, and the piping hangs pretty low limiting how much you can drop your car.

Had a Neuspeed, sounded ok, lost some power. I've had a comptech to a few years and I like the combo of looks and a throaty sound. It's not very load...I perfer to hear music over the exhaust.
I would like a 3" exhaust at this point since I have gone S/C, but I don't want anything louder than I have.

Outside of sounding better and possibly gaining some thottle response, I don't think there are going to be big gains from even an intake, header, test pipe, exhaust combo, unless FI is the plan.

I had the AP2 Titanium Mugen Exhaust. One of the best exhaust I ever had. It's not as loud and you can actually feel the power.

Believe it or not the Invidia Single 70mm exhaust with the 700mm test pipe is actually a good exhaust. From day one i felt power gains from mid range to top end. Although some may say its pretty loud i didnt mind the noise. The gains were worth it.
