I am very close to getting an S2000, but I'm starting to reconsider. I don't have a garage, so I have to worry about the stolen seat wave or worse, the whole car dissapearing. Then there's the fact that I park by the pool and next to the guest parking, so all these High School punks that hang out at the pool at night sometimes leave food, beer cans, used condoms and what not around my car (when I had my truck, the bed doubled as a trash can for these hoodlums). And as if that wasn't enough, now there's this:
That's right, now I have to worry about nasty dirty rodents climbing into my engine bay and chewing out wires and hoses! I found this little bastard in my Caddy after I parked the car for a week. It took me about an hour to fish him out. I don't even want to talk about the smell that he left behind...
I'm pissed. I think I'm going with an SRT-4. At least ricers don't dream of SRT-4 seats at night, and if a damn opossum chews a hole through the hood, then what the hell... it's just a Neon anyway
Question: Why does it say "owner" under your avatar if you don't already own an S2000?
In any event, I would wait until you get a garage, for precisely the reasons you mentioned. Out in the open, in the dead of night, your car WILL get f*cked with. That's Miami for you.

Honestly, you're probably better off saving yourself from all the aggrevation. The question isn't "if" something will happen to your car, it's "when" it'll happen.
I was worried about the same things.. I live in a apartment complex by the pool, plus I have a company vehicle so the S sits most of the week untouched.. but fortunately I've been lucky.. (knock on wood) I want to do extensive mods (FI) but im gonna wait until my lease runs up and get a place with a garage.

The biologist in me can't let this one go without comment. The animal in the photo is an opposum which is a marsupial, not a rodent. I like them, though not in my engine bay.
