Default Another S2000 gets violated in Florida

So i come out to my car at about 10:15 a.m. to check off my "To Do" list for the day and i see what i see. "Oh man"..."hahaha"..."they are brave very brave"...are the only things that come out my mouth. Hole in my top! I came home about 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. tired as hell and my mom's car was blocking the garage side that isnt full of misc. items. I usually move it but on occassions i dont and i park in guest parking. I live in a gated so called "secure" community with cameras (your ed thieves) rolling 24-7 but only at the gate. The window for them to have got my shit was between the time i came home and the time the girl next door woke up and found that her stock Civic was broken into. About 6 a.m. or so. Called the cops and they took about 10 min to get there. They dusted for prints and such and took inventory. They got my Seats, my JVC stereo, my little MTX amp and my shift knob. Only thing that gets me is that they came in my neighborhood...or that's what they want me to believe. It's an inside job and i know it. I know what happened im just waiting to put my plan in action. And i'm 95% sure i know who. I know too many people and they wont be able to get away with this shit. Morons didnt even take my EDFC (w/ motors) nor my M7's, so it leads me to think that it is the ricers i think it is. Im gonna fix my top and buy some Brides (you should have waited) park my car again over there so they can try it again, that's plan B. Let the game begin.

Dude I feel your pain! TRUST ME!! I've been in your situation and came out to the same thing.. except mine wasn't as bad as yours. Only seats/shifter knob, CD case gone and big whole in top.

If you know who it was.. don't bother with the cops since they aren't going to do anything about it, just do what you have to. I know I did the same Karma (or pay back) is a bitch!

The similarities to how they left my car and your car are crazy, with the center console and everything. What area do you live by? I live in the Kendall area between Dadeland Mall and The Falls. The insurance company told me my car is a total loss so I'm getting my lawyer invovled. I know the seats and a new top (I need a new frame as well) is expensive. I was considering putting in aftermarket seats. Do you have a weblink to the ones you're looking at?

TOTAL loss? How the hell did they come up with that?? What insurance company do you have.

When I had my seats Stolen, they replaced my roof, 2 seats, shifter knob, door panel since they scratched it all when taken the seats as well as the back panel behind the seats because it was scratched too. If I am not mistaken i think it was like about $9k for the entire work. (I'd have to confirm by going back and looking at the receipt).

Maybe because your S2000 is a MY2000 and isn't worth that much and $9K in repairs exceeds more than half of what the car is worth, ergo a total loss.

Unless you REALLY want your car back, this may be a blessing in disguise...

Actually, the NADA value of my car for resale is $21,000. My insurance company claims anything over 80% of the value of the car is deemed a total loss. However, in my case I had more than the seats and top, there were a couple other things as well that were taken. So in parts alone (from South Motors where I got the estimate) cost was approximately $12,000. Then you have to add labor. My insurance company stated that if I could find a bodyshop that could fix my car for under the 80%, then they would settle with me. So now I'm on the mission to find a place that could do it. Although, in all honesty, I don't know why I would take it to a body shop because everything that was taken was all bolt on. I would just reinstall everything myself and take it to the dealer to have them put on a new frame/top. I'm not sure if they cut the check to the bodyshop and myself, or if it's just to me. I know it can be fixed for under 80%. And yes, I'd like to keep the car.

Try Rick Case, start with calling Eddie in Service and he should be able to direct you to the right department.
