buy a Robbins top. They are very affordable and if you plan on doing it yourself there is a DIY CLICK HERE. Explore the forum outside of the FL section and you will find a lot of help. If you are moderately handy it can take you up to two days from what I hear. Some more experienced guys do it in half a day.

Good luck and welcome. Oh and if you decide to take it to someone Andres is a good guy to go to from what I hear. He has a page with all his info here somewhere. Just scroll down and you should find it.

I do a lot of my own work on my cars, but have no interest in tackling a top replacement - way the heck too much work. I had a local auto upholstery shop replace mine last year for around $1300 (that included the new top). Money well spent IMO, especially after thumbing through the DIY writeup, lol. I went with a GAHH canvas/cloth top, and I think it looks much better (darker) than the OEM vinyl, even a year later.

Can you post details on who you used, name, address ...?

That's a good price for complete work.

First of all, WELCOME to the community! If you ever attend a meet, you'll meet me - I'm usually the one who organizes them. We meet on the first Thursday of every month (second Thursday this month though) either in Dade or Broward counties - here is the link for that meet. A group of us always meet every Wednesday at Flanigans on Kendall drive as well around 9 PM. Hope to see you on the road!

As for the top, I replaced mine with a Robbins cloth top. A lot of people will tell you it fits terribly, or looks like crap, but I've found that 99% of that is a result of the installer doing a poor job. I'm good friends with a guy in the Carolinas that has replaced over 30 of these tops on S2000's and he says that there is no tangible difference in quality between an OEM and a Robbins top. It is up to the installer to do a good job of installing your top. As Jeff said, I would take your car to a pro and have them do it. I did one with a friend and it was the worst two days of my life lol. GAHH also makes a great (albeit pricier) top for the car, but nothing is more expensive than OEM.

If you haven't done so already, head here to introduce yourself to the whole forum.

Also, this link will provide a detailed list of all the things a new S2000 owner should know about, and replace on these cars. If you have any questions about anything happening down in the South Florida community, feel free to ask me. See you on the road!

It was Rudy at E&T Auto Upholstery. His shop is on Griffin road in Davie. Also had him recover my seats and door panels in two-tone red and black (and seat heaters for the missus) . He does good work. If you see him, tell him Jeff and Christy with the red s2000 sent you.
