Attempted Seat Theft
Haven't posted in a while but I figured I'd let the community know about this incident since the offenders got caught in the act.
I moved into a new place last weekend and I had only been here for 3 days before my car got hit. I went to sleep early Monday night because I was dead tired from moving and super bowl festivities. It was raining most of the night and I got up around 4am because the rain hitting the top (or so I thought) kept triggering my alarm's warning sensors. I ignored it like I usually do but I decided to go put it on valet around 4:30am because it completely went off and I didn't want to piss my neighbors off since hadn't even met them yet and the garage was going to be ready for the car the next day.
I go back inside, BS on my iPad for a bit and about 20-30 minutes later I hear "GET THE F*CK ON THE GROUND... DON'T YOU F*CKING MOVE!!!" accompanied by the sounds of dogs barking. I get up quickly and look out the window since the sound was coming from right below me and I see two kids on the floor face down in the grass, a cop with a flashlight and gun holding a dog back, and 4 cop cars swarming in. Also noticed my driver's seat hanging out the front door (sh*t). After the dust settled, the searched the area and found my passenger seat in a black late model Jetta parked in guest parking near by. It was one of the kids' mom's car.
Apparently my neighbor was awakened by the warning alarms earlier and happened to look outside and saw them suspiciously scoping out the car. She realized it wasn't me and called the cops. I guess when I went outside to put the alarm on valet, I must have scared them off and when I went back inside they went back to work on it, this time without the alarm
. Lesson learned........ alarm on rain or shine. Either way, my going outside must have delayed them enough for the cops to get here and catch them in the act. Damages: the top, a new pass. side seat belt, and to repair the wires for the pass side seat weight sensor (for SRS).
They caught two kids. One 16 (can't make out his name on the recovered items sheet) and another one, Donnovan Daniels, age 18:

I live in hallandale which is not very far from You so these stories make me worry about my poor little defenseless s2k

I would suggest you get seat locks for like $60 or $70. Not sure if you had them but they would make it hard for any rooky to steal.
I would suggest you give your neighbor (flowers if a girl) or (beer for a guy).
