Last time i saw an ass wooping (rapeing) this good or bad was in 2003 when the Gumball 3000 finished in Miami. Lonman in his 996 GT2 raced us (me & my bro in his M3) on I-95, gave us a ~5 sec. head start and passed us like we were standing still! To show you what I mean:

These are my 2 favorite cars for different reasons. I'm with you 100% on the American sports car thing but the Z06 is clearly lightyears away from the rest. I'd have to say the power to price ratio = Z06 FTW.

Yeah you think the 200 shot helped . Hey 700hp is 700hp. I love the GT2 and the Porsche racing heritage is arguably one of the best, but Corvette hasn't been f#$kin around the last few years.

I'd still say the Z06 FTW from a Price/Power ratio and also from a Stock/Potential ratio without breaking the piggy bank. As mentioned by Jimreapor the ZR-1 is going to be another upset to the $100k plus performance market.

I was in a meeting a few years ago and a senior VP of GM was a guest speaker. He predicted that Toyota would pass them on the Global brand market share, but also said GM is rethinking how it's marketing itself. He talked about a lot of the intiatives GM is putting in place, but one that stood out was that he said Corvette would punish the Euro exotic market and dominate the racing circuit. At that time I thought he was crazy and was giving us another "heartbeat of America" speech, but look at what GM has accomplished with Corvette over the past couple years.
